Bookings Pack

We want to help you organise your Party as quickly and efficiently as possible so we have put together this pack to help us and you have an enjoyable time instead of a stressful one! After all the party is for you as well.

If you need to ask us questions that are not included in the pack below then feel free to email us or call us and we will do our best to help you. Alternatively you can arrange a meeting with one of the bookings managers so we can go through your personal requirements face to face.

We have several areas available for hire; which can be viewed on our website at thewinchesterbar.com To hire an area you will be required to pay a deposit of £50.00 (or £200 when hiring the downstairs bar exclusively), this is to confirm the booking. The deposit will be returned on the following Monday after the party.

General Info

No Stag or Hen parties. Smart/ Casual dress code. Smart Trainers allowed no tracksuits, hoodies or hats! Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are strictly over 21's. (ID in the form of a driving license or passport will be required at front door if you look below this age-no photocopies are accepted) will have to queue the same as everyone else.

(no exceptions, please ensure that all of your party are aware of this) Downstairs bar capacity is 120 people; we do not accept private functions for less than 100 people. This can vary dependant on which day or time it is Weeknight parties have a minimum bar spend of £500 if in our downstairs bar when hired exclusively, this may vary dependant on day of party Any party, which has our downstairs bar exclusively, must pay for security due to our licensing regulations.

If you would like to hire the downstairs bar exclusively on a weekend, it will open to the public at 10pm and you must have a minimum of 100 people at the party at the latest of 1 hour after your booking time. Management reserves the right to refuse admission. On Fridays and Saturdays (9pm) there is a cover charge. Individuals who have not arrived before these times will be subject to the charge. We do not have a guest list due to capacity limitations.

IF IN DOUBT ARRIVE EARLY!!

We have projector screens and plasma screens available alongside a dvd player and we can also link up any laptop or I-pod to the sound system if required.

The Winchester are not held responsible for any incompatibility of equipment with your own and recommend that you visit us prior to your party to test the equipment with yours and ensure it will work on the day or evening of your party.

Food & Drinks

We can organise food and pre ordered drinks for your party, including discounts for bulk pre ordering of wine or Champagne.

You can have a tab open for your party or you can have the downstairs bar exclusively with a minimum bar spend on certain evenings. Whatever your requirements let us know and we can do our best to meet them! We can also offer and 10% discount if you pre order 6 bottles or more of any spirit (bottle) of your choice. Deposit

Deposits must be paid on reservations for over 10-15 people. Deposits should be received at least a week before reservation date. Deposits may be paid by cash or card in person or via phone
(Never send bank details via email for your own security).

Reservations are NOT secured until the deposit has been received, however we will contact you promptly if someone else is looking to book the area you have enquired about.

The deposit will be returned to you the first Monday after your reservation. You must contact us by phone, and we will refund the deposit back on to your card. For security we destroy all card information. Please note that all refunds are subject to rules and regulations*

*Deposits will be withheld for no shows, late cancellations, damage to the reserved area, parties/individuals caught using/supplying drugs or own alcohol.At least half of the booked number of people must be present at the latest of half an hour after booking time & ALL OF THE BOOKING AMOUNT MUST BE HERE WITHIN THE HOUR OF THE BOOKING TIME otherwise deposit may be kept.

EXAMPLE: IF YOU HAVE BOOKED A PARTY FOR 30 PEOPLE AT 8PM YOU MUST HAVE 15 PEOPLE AT THE BAR BY 8.30PM AND ALL 30 PEOPLE AT THE BAR BY 9PM PLEASE NOTE:: GUESTS WHO ARE WITH A PARTY BOOKING IN THE BASEMENT LOUNGE MUST BE HERE BY 9PM, THEY WILL BE STAMPED ON THE HAND WHICH WILL ALLOW THEM TO MOVE FREELY IN AND OUT OF THE BAR FOR SMOKING BREAKS, ETC WITHOUT RE -QUEUING. ANY GUESTS ARRIVING AFTER THIS TIME WILL HAVE TO QUEUE THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE. PLEASE ENSURE YOUR PARTY IS AWARE OF THIS BEFORE ARRIVING.

No reservations will be made for later than 8pm.

Cancellations & Latecomers

Cancellations need to be made at least 14 days before reservation date. Reservations will be held for 15 minutes before being given to the general public, if you are running late please ensure you call and let us know. When possible the individual who made the reservation or a representative, should arrive 15 minutes before reservation time.

The Winchester reserves the right of admission and ejection from the premises of any party guest, if it is felt that the guest is unruly, behaving badly or inebriated.
